BRUNEI'S RODHYATUL ADHWANA WINS WOMEN'S INDIVIDUAL KARATE EVENT

BRUNEI Darussalam ‘A’ Rodhyatul Adhwana binti Bakar bagged the gold medal in the Women’s Individual Kata category of the karate event of the 10th BIMPNT-EAGA Friendship Games 2018 at the Multi-purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas yesterday.

Rezky Dinda Amaliah Ichwan of South Sulawesi won silver and Sam Hiang Fong of Federal Territory of Labuan and Sabah’s Vellcarollyne Agustine shared the bronze medal.

Clevelence Carlos of Sabah won gold in the Men’s Individual Kata, followed by Gibran Atthariq of West Sulawesi placed second and Muhammad Rafly Saputra of South Sulawesi and Awangku Mohd Azeem bin Pengiran Omar of Brunei Darussalam ‘B’ took bronze.

Sabah won gold for the Men’s Team Kata event, with South Sulawesi in second place and Mindanao sharing the third spot with Federal Territory of Labuan.

In the Women’s Team Kata, South Sulawesi won gold, Brunei Darussalam ‘A’ won silver, while Sabah and Sarawak shared bronze medals.

Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pengiran Indera Jaya bin Pengiran Haji Shamsu presented the medals.
