BRUNEI Darussalam’s swimming teams ‘A’ and ‘B’ have set a target of between five to eight new personal bests during the 10th BIMPNT-EAGA Friendship Games 2018 at the Swimming Pool of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex from today until tomorrow.

Brunei Darussalam will compete against teams from Mindanao, Northern Territory, Persatuan Renang Labuan, Sabah Swimming Team, Sarawak and South Sulawesi Province.

“I’ve been with the team from day one and they hope to break at least five to eight personal best records. It is a target for the whole team. This is their motivation and this is what they hope to achieve,” said Brunei Darussalam Team ‘B’ manager Zeti Reza Amin in an interview with the Bulletin.

“Medals will be an extra bonus for them. They are motivating and challenging themselves and at the same time they are gaining exposure competing with international participants.”

The manager said the athletes hope to break the national record as well which carries a financial incentive.

She shared that one of the national swimmers Nur Haziq Samil was looking to break his 200m backstroke record.
